Jam TV Show - "Injure For Friends" with Julia Davis

"Christopher Morris (born 15 June 1962 in Bristol) is an English satirist, writer, director and actor. A former radio DJ, he is best known for anchoring the spoof news and current affairs television programmes The Day Today and Brass Eye, as well as his frequent engagement with controversial subject matter such as substance abuse and paedophilia.

In 2010 Morris directed his first feature-length film Four Lions about a group of inept British terrorists. Reception of the film was largely positive and received a respectable box office. Outside his central work, Morris tends to stay out of the public eye and has become one of the more enigmatic figures in British comedy."

This man is an inspiration to me as he reveals the sad truth within the British media and within our culture. He does by making it into a hilarious subject thus making it satirical. He joins every man's fears and desires in his sketch show 'Jam' which is my personal favourite of his works. It makes you genuinely uncomfortable and confused as it uses surreal juxtapositions in everyday situation. This is impressively done with ambient music alongside. These sketches are an art form according to me and have inspired me to use video.

The following sketch from the show is funny, sad, insulting, confusing and terrifying. I love the audio in the second part of the sketch. It's emotional and reminds me of other things.

This is relevent to my practice as I am thinking about insanity and trying to touch on this subject in my work.
