Snow View

Filmed the first week of the christmas holidays, I think unconsciously inspired by Chris Welsby's video work as he is concerned with landscape. This could be considered a personal work and in a sense a self portrait as this is the view from my bedroom window, of course a very personal space. The soundtack is taken from the introduction to the moving piece symphony no.3 by Henryk Gorecki. I cut this introduction from the original piece and slowed it down. This cut is repeated three times throughout the film. It creates an ambient sound, sometimes eerie but sometimes emotional. The visual is a slow pan down and then zoom out. This is a simple technique but I think it works well.
